My Hair

I am feeling great. Thank you all for your concern. I have begun to notice a little hair loss. I knew this was bound to happen. It's right on schedule and signifies the Chemo is working. Another encouraging sign!

I have been doing some spreadsheet work for Karen this evening. I should be getting paid for this. Karen will, so that's great. I enjoyed doing this for her.

Save the hair. I've got some spray adhesive -- we can glue it back on. Or knit you a sock. Now, apologies for the long copy-and-paste job here, but here's what AskMen.com -- the unquestionable, quintessentially authoritative source on everything manly -- has to say about baldness:

"Sporting a shaved head can actually make you look younger. It's a hip style these days. Many men in their 20s, blessed with full heads of hair, shave just for the look. And it can help you in business. A clean-cut head helps present a sharp, orderly and professional image. That's why it works so well in the military. Conversely, if you're the creative type, a bald head lends you immediate artistic, hipster credibility. Additionally, you'll get a little more respect on the street. Look at what it did for Vin Diesel. Tough guy comes to mind.

Women won't know whether you're really bald, or doing it for the cool look. Many will dig it and ask to feel your head. Check out Taye Diggs. Chick magnet is an apt description. You're in good company now. So wear your new style with confidence and a smile, like Bruce Willis."

Sharp. Orderly. Professional. Artistic. Creative. Chick magnet, John. Women are going to be feeling your head. Happy days are here again.;) Seriously, though, thanks for the good post. By the way, lot of folks at CLS - the Christian Legal Society - have been asking about you and praying for you. So are my professors. Everyone's pulling for you.

I have to say that one of the best things about being/going bald is how much money I save not paying for haircuts. I probably save around 180 dollars a year. Furthermore, I recall watching an episode of 20/20 several years ago that stated that bald men are generally smarter than their counterparts.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you John. Take Care.

Hey little brother,

I remember when you were small and had a shaved head. I think mom did it to make all the stitches you and Bob got easier to take care of! I will have to look up some pictures and share.

You have such courage and faith, I am proud to have you as a brother.
I love you!
